wide open spaces

this was posted on my old blog shortly before the old blog went away….I wanted to preserve this session as well as a few others though, so I am re-posting a few on my new blog.  sorry for the repeats!

I recently had the opportunity to do a session in a beautiful, gorgeous setting – which also happened to be the client’s own yard.  This dear family used to be our neighbors years ago in an historic neighborhood just outside of downtown.  Their love of horses, dogs and wide open spaces though inspired them to trade their 1920s colonial house for a new ranch home on an acreage with woods, a barn, room for horses and space to live and play together as a family.

Horses are a huge part of this family’s life (okay, maybe not so much dad’s life!) and we made sure to do a lot of shooting in the barn and around their extended four-legged family.  I promised the daughters that I wouldn’t take “awkward family photos” and I hope they’re pleased with the way the images turned out.  It truly was a pleasure – not only to see their beautiful landscape, but to capture the love, joy and fun they share with one another.
